T-Mobile (News - Alert) UK has announced that it will be using Telcordia Global Dialing Data solution, joining other Tier 1 service providers who also employ Telcordia’s solution.

Telcordia (News - Alert) specializes in developing telecommunications network software and services for IP, wireline, wireless, and cable industries. Catering to over 112 million customers worldwide T-Mobile also has a large network in UK with nearly 17 million customers.

Telcordia Global Dialing Data will offer T-Mobile high levels of control and visibility into the network. Since UK is a huge wireless market for service providers the company hopes to increase its profits and improve its competitive positioning said T-Mobile.

Telcordia Global Dialing Data makes available 800,000 dial codes for over 230 markets. Further the Telcordia data is the most comprehensive, accurate and authoritative dial code data which is why over 20 fixed and mobile operators use Telcordia’s solution according to the company.

Telcordia Global Dialing Data is a component of the Telcordia  Service Interconnection Registry which includes updates as dialing code and numbering plan changes on a continuous basis. It also provides future numbering plan change notifications and activity reports. Further the Telcordia Service Interconnection Registry offers the advantage of giving accurate routing and rating of voice, SMS, and multimedia services compared to traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and IP.
