Codima Launches the Next Generation of VoIP Testing Tools

By Anuradha Shukla
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Codima Technologies recently launched autoVoIP Traffic Blaster, which adds a new dimension and stress tests the Quality of Service experience for each user when extra VoIP and non-VoIP traffic is loaded on the network.

Simulating and testing traffic on a VoIP network prior to operation is crucial and the next generation of testing tools for VoIP networks tests the limits for each and every phone. This is expected to ensure successful deployment and installation to satisfy end users.

The autoVoIP Traffic Simulator from Codima Toolbox monitors Quality of Service over time for the simulated RTP traffic it sends out. The autoVoIP Traffic Blaster sends out competitive traffic and non competitive traffic using the Traffic Simulator interface to display the impact of this extra traffic on the Quality of Service for the simulated RTP traffic.

Since the autoVoIP Traffic Blaster uses a multiple traffic injection and monitoring points, this gives a totally realistic deployment simulation instead of a point to point analysis.

According to CEO, Christer Mattsson, bringing the next generation of testing tools to the market, has been a priority at Codima, as they consider the end user experience most important for the continued rapid growth of VoIP network installations.

“ We believe autoVoIP Traffic Blaster, and autoVoIP Traffic Simulator, launched this fall, are a highly competitive testing products, significantly improving VoIP deployment, said Mattsson in a statement to the press

Some key functions for autoVoIP Traffic Blaster include:

-Quality of Service analysis that allows you to see at a glance if VoIP is within safe limits, marginal or likely to be seriously degraded.

-Load specified by phone/codec.

-Automatic exploration of the limits of the network and display of the QoS degradation as traffic patterns are automatically explored, and

-Automatic checking of the QoS engineering using a sophisticated load generation algorithm.
