Primo Telekom Selects Centile's IntraSwitch to Deliver VoIP, Next Generation Services, in Denmark

Danish VoIP provider Primo Telekom has reportedly selected Centile’s IntraSwitch to offer value-added hosted VoIP services to the business and residential markets. Centile is a provider of next-generation SIP-based services for converged fixed-mobile and multimedia applications.

Capable of supporting hundreds of thousands of customers in a highly distributed architecture, the IntraSwitch platform offers ready-to-market service functionality such as Business Trunking-VoIP VPN, Hybrid IP Centrex, IP Centrex, Residential VoIP and Hosted Enterprise. The “pre-IMS” platform also offers value-added Class 5 features, Computer Telephony Integration, a full Media server with IVRs, Automatic Call Distribution, Conferencing, Presence Management, Instant Messaging and Video support.

Primo Telekom is using IntraSwitch to provide its business and residential customers with innovative applications such as Centile CallPad, a windows-based desktop which gives end users total control of their phone communications, and Centile SwitchBoard, an attendant console dedicated to receptionists.

Jose Ruiz, Centile COO, said in a press release that he is certain that Primo Telekom “will become the leader in VoIP services in Denmark,” thanks in part to its acquisition of the IntraSwitch platform.

Mark Arthur, CEO of Primo Telekom, said the carrier plans to roll out hosted IP telephony services to more than 500,000 local, Internet, long distance and wireless subscribers in Denmark, as well as 24 other EU markets, in the next 12 months.

“We chose Centile to support our state-of-the-art network because we could easily see how our investment in a class 5 feature server would be translated into profitable pricing and packaging solutions for our end clients,” Arthur said in the release. “Also important to us was Centile’s ability to help us speed to market, deliver an open architecture that will allow us to add additional revenue generating applications in the future such as FMC or Video IP services.”

Centile, a wholly owned subsidiary of visionGATEWAY (a next-generation network software development and distribution company), made news in July when it announced that it had entered into a reseller’s agreement with Global Voice Telecom, a VoIP wholesale operator.

The deal enables Global Voice Telecom to resell and integrate Intraswitch for its wholesale VoIP clients.

As a result, Global Voice Telecom will be able to support ISPs and other operators in the United States by providing network planning, Intraswitch systems integration, Web portal customization, custom application development, multi-vendor interoperability, hosting, testing and support.
