Tekelec to Co-present Session on Converged Communications at IMS EXPO

By Mae Kowalke
TMCnet Associate Editor

IMS is getting a lot of hype these days, but enterprises are unlikely to adopt converged communications unless it offers real business benefits. Those benefits are just over the next hill in the form of VoIP on a global scale.

A thorough examination of IMS benefits for enterprises is the topic of a session titled “Making Money with IMS,” to be held at IMS EXPO (co-located with Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO West, Oct. 10-13 in San Diego). Among the presenters of is Mark Whittier, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Tekelec.

The session will be held October 12, 2006, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.

“Making Money with IMS” introduces the concept of “value over IP,” in which enterprises participate in and make use of a seamless lifestyle communications experience that brings the full capabilities of the network directly to the individual. This stage in the evolution of IMS is characterized by an ability to utilize services through fully operational converged Next Generation networks built on IMS architecture.

More information about IMS and how it can deliver real business value can be found at www.tekelec.com. If you’re attending IMS EXPO, also be sure not to miss the keynote by Rick Mace, Executive Vice President of Global Business and Group Operations at Tekelec (News - Alert). The keynote will be held October 11 from 10:30-11:00 a.m.
