Telephony service providers and enterprise organizations can implement a viable fax over IP solution through FaxBack’s (News - Alert) VoIP
fax solutions, according to a White Paper (News - Alert) by the company titled “Fax Solutions for Services Providers and Enterprise.”
The White Paper noted that FaxBack’s VoIP Fax solutions readily integrate with VoIP backend architecture to deliver automated, real-time faxing functionality to the desktop. They include fax to e-mail features, faxing from the desktop, and SDK development tools. Incoming faxes, in PDF or TIFF file formats, are delivered to e-mail inboxes in real time.
FaxBack’s VoIP Fax technology supports SSL-encrypted fax messages that are sent across the Internet via HTTPS, then translates them in real-time into a SIP
T.38 based fax protocol locally within the service provider’s network environment, using a VoIP media gateway or other SIP T.38 endpoints for connecting the PSTN
.
By using T.38, FaxBack’s VoIP fax solutions provide higher fax system densities than those using a G.711 standard, according to the White Paper. A secure socket layer and Internet-friendly HTTPS protocol permit fax messages to safely navigate through local firewalls and network address translation
devices along with session border controllers, thus circumventing client-side installation and management issues.
