Ericsson, China Netcom Collab on Maiden IMS Network

By Rahul Prabhakar
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Ericsson (News - Alert) has teamed with China Netcom to set up a commercial IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert)) network in China. Ericsson, in collaboration with Netcom’s Beijing branch, will establish this network to strengthen Netcom’s position in the Chinese communications market.

Ericsson will furnish a comprehensive IMS system to China Netcom’s (News - Alert) Beijing establishment, ensuring synchronization between the technology offered and the existing communication network. Ericsson has begun deploying products to the Beijing office and will complete the network at the end of April.

Installing the best and latest multimedia services such as voice, data, audio and video by the way of Ericsson’s IMS network will enhance the productivity and competitiveness of China Netcom’s Beijing unit.
