ShoreTel (

Alert) has launched the ShoreTel IP

8000, a high performance IP conference phone that delivers extraordinary audio quality and doubles the room coverage of legacy conference phones.
The new
business phone system will enable enterprises to maximize productivity in collaborative corporate environments, and provide a one-stop shopping experience for existing ShoreTel customers who want to integrate conference phones into their overall business phone systems.
The ShoreTel IP 8000 raises voice input and audio output quality to unprecedented levels. The device incorporates 16 always-on, beam-forming microphones arranged in ShoreTel's exclusive Circular Microphone Array format.
Also, to enhance the receiver’s sensitivity in the direction of wanted signals, beam-forming decreases the sensitivity in the direction of interference and noise. The company points out that ShoreTel's Circular Microphone Array enables anyone who speaks to be heard crisply and clearly by call recipients and eliminates unwanted noise from projectors or notebook computers that may reside on the conference table.
Through its enhanced Radio Frequency

Immunity, the ShoreTel IP 8000 further enhances input quality. The Immunity eliminates distracting interference from cell phones, PDAs, and other electronic devices in the conference room. The ShoreTel IP 8000's titanium speaker driver and tuned ported enclosure claim to reduce unwanted distortion up to 10 times more effectively than other conference phones.
The new conference phone boasts elegant, non-intrusive design, which eliminates the need for additional microphone pods and subwoofers. The software-based and remotely programmable device features an intuitive keypad and display that facilitate the addition of call participants through the simple touch of a button.
Leveraging the business phone system's three-way local conferencing capabilities users can host ad-hoc conferences without consuming PBX

or audio bridge resources. IP 800 is SIP-compliant and integrates seamlessly with ShoreTel's comprehensive suite of IP telephony solutions. This gives customers easy access to the productivity-enhancing features that distinguish its overall offering.
“With the release of the ShoreTel IP 8000, ShoreTel becomes a one-stop-shop for enterprises in search of leading IP telephony and conference phone solutions,” said Steve Timmerman, vice president of marketing at ShoreTel in a
statement to the press.
“We are proud to extend our suite of telephony solutions with this product that targets collaboration and productivity gains through improved communications,” he added.
