ShoreTel (News - Alert) Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-class IP telephony solutions, recently signed a distribution agreement with Horizon Solutions, subsidiary of Horizon Technology Group, leading distributors of IT products in the UK and Ireland. Under this agreement, Horizon Solutions will be able to market IP telephony solutions from ShoreTel as a key element of its latest Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) offerings. These IP telephony solutions will also enhance the voice and video quality of Horizon’s UC solutions.

Horizon Solutions operates in the UK and manages the UC strategy of its parent company. The company specializes in the UC market and is better known as the sole distributor of a well represented UC program supported by centralized resources, delivering seamless voice, video, and data solutions unified by a common interface.

This strategic partnership with ShoreTel will help the company minimize costs, enhance productivity, and extend similar benefits to its vendors and resellers.

ShoreTel owns an open, distributed network architecture that harmonizes with Horizon’s diversification plans.

Joel Chimondes, Horizon Solutions’ business unit manager, said in a statement, “We have selected ShoreTel as a fundamental part of our UC strategy. ShoreTel’s IP telephony solution is reliable, scalable, feature rich, and a profitable and in-demand product for resellers.”

“We are looking forward to working with ShoreTel,” Chimondes said.

Steve Timmerman, vice president (marketing) at ShoreTel, commented, “We see Horizon as a key partner is growing our business in the UK.”
