NextAlarm.com Launches New Internet-based Alarm Notification Services

Security company NextAlarm.com, Inc., today introduced two new alarm notification services designed for consumers and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

The services, NextAlarm Plan ($5 per month) and Free NextAlarm Notify Plan (no charge), offer “value priced, enhanced alarm notification services at no cost or for a low monthly rate,” the company said in a press release Friday.

NextAlarm’s services upgrades existing security systems to make them Internet compatible, without requiring changes to the equipment. The services are notification-only, based on an automated system.

“When the alarm is engaged, the customer is contacted by e-mail, SMS, or text-pager, receiving a message announcing that the alarm was triggered along with information that tells the customer which alarm zone (i.e. zone 1: front door) was triggered,” NextAlarm explained in its announcement.

Both of the new services use the Internet or regular phones lines for the notification process, and do not require an alarm permit.

“Our goal at NextAlarm is to put the customer in control of their security system and give them more options to pick from,” the company’s founder and CEO, Alex Elliot, said in a statement. “These new plans provide a whole new level of service that are very affordable and just as reliable as the leading alarm services.”

The $5 per month NetAlarm plan includes unlimited notification via e-mail or text page, and unlimited e-mail addresses for the notifications. Subscribers also get access to all features of the NextAlarm.com secure Web site for managing both notifications and general account information.

The free service includes up to three notifications per day, using a single e-mail address.

NextAlarm.com was founded in 2000. The company provides Internet-based alarm monitoring services designed to address the needs of consumers and SMBs seeking an alarm system that won’t cost an arm and a leg, and that are simple enough to be self-installed.
