Using Pirelli’s Discus products, service providers can offer consumers wirelessly delivered high definition (HD) video. Pirelli's DEXW50N video extenders are point to multi-point wireless devices capable of transfer video at wireline quality. This ensures coverage throughout the home. Pirelli's extenders are ideal for automatic configuration and user-friendly deployment.
Pirelli Broadband Solutions chose Metalink’s chipset because of its consumer electronics quality capabilities and future-proof nature.
“Major European service providers consider the installation of additional wires in their customers' homes as a major obstacle to deployment of IPTV

and video services in general,” said Corrado Rocca, senior vice president or product management and development at Pirelli’s access products division, in a statement.
Rocca added that collaborating with Metalink allows the company to broaden its price/performance options within the Extenders family.
David Pereg, Metalink's vice president of corporate development, expressed his company’s delight to be collaborating with Pirelli in the development of new video bridge solutions based on its WLANPlus 802.11n chipset.
Pereg said the collaboration gives Metalink momentum in its goal to be a significant wireless silicon provider to major operators in Europe and worldwide as these operators pursue their IPTV (

“We are excited by the business opportunity that our cooperation with Pirelli presents to Metalink,” Pereg said in a statement. .
