VoIP Adoption Stimulates Growth of Conferencing Industry

By Erik Linask
Group Managing Editor

Unquestionably, the Internet has made it easier to communicate, not only in store-and-forward fashion, but in real time as well. Advances in technology have allowed business users to enjoy tremendous productivity gains already, and that is only set to continue as more and more companies adopt continually advancing solutions.

Among the areas that are exhibiting the greatest growth — and will continue to do so — are conferencing and collaboration. Real-time collaboration that was once available in an in-person, face-to-face environment has been turned into an enriched virtual experience by VoIP and other IP-based applications.

One of the sure signs that IP conferencing is set to really take off is the abundance of providers that are introducing conferencing products and services. Among the companies looking to benefit from the focus on unified communications, including conferencing, is Parus Interactive, which has now added high definition video conferencing to its Emissary product line, including its private labeled services.

Parus’ Emissary offers an automated software-based solution that includes an updated GUI designed to enable quick and easy access to contacts and the ability to invite as many as 50 participants to a video conference. Emissary allows each conference participant to simultaneously view up to six user images while enjoying desktop and application sharing privileges, complimentary VoIP audio conferencing, annotation tools, integrated whiteboard capabilities, screenshot sharing, and online polling.

“With the addition of video conferencing to our suite of unified communication, broadcast messaging, and IP fax solutions, we have compelling offerings for any network marketing organization,” said Darius Reneau, Chief Marketing Officer at Parus.

Emissary originally was intended to unite communications under a single toll-free number, effectively creating a personal electronic assistant that answers calls, handles voice mail, fax, email, meeting scheduling, conference calling, and much more. The key is that it is all preformed by a highly advanced voice response technology, not an employee, leaving staff to focus on other business-related tasks.

Now, Parus has taken Emissary even further, adding full-featured HD video conferencing capabilities to your virtual assistant — which doesn’t go home at the end of the day or take vacation or sick time.

“Our video conferencing service is available globally 24/7, so, whether a meeting is at 2:00 pm or 2:00 am, users are always able to conduct business on their schedule any time, anywhere, virtually face-to-face,” added Reneau.
