mywaves, the mobile video company that delivers Web video entertainment directly to consumers’ mobile phones has launched “Auto Channels,” a new way that enable users to personalize their mobile video viewing options.

When users specify a search phrase, mywaves scours the Web to find and automatically deliver relevant videos to users mobile phones for free. This instantaneously delivers videos in the form of a streaming channel, checks for new videos that match the search phrase, and adds them to the channel daily. When new videos are available for viewing, users can be notified via a text message.

Since December nearly 300,000 users in 90 countries have already checked out mywaves’ mobile video service. The company is currently averaging 40,000 new sign ups a week.

Rajeev Raman founder and CEO mywaves said that the tremendous momentum behind mywaves is due to the simple fact that consumers love to choose from a vast array of content and they can personalize their own channels and watch what they want to watch, wherever they are.

Raman believes the addition of Auto Channels further enhances the users experience because now mywaves does all the work of content discovery on the user’s behalf.

“mywaves understands the consumer like no other mobile video or TV service out there,” said Ben Bajarin, Creative Strategies in a press release.

He continued: “Their target, mobile entertainment oriented youth, will go crazy over Auto Channels search, because it allows kids to be the first to discover and share new video within their circle of friends. It also will feed their insatiable entertainment appetite by constantly serving up new video that matches their interests.”

As a free service providing Web-style entertainment on the mobile phone, mywaves offers unprecedented choice from thousands of video channels, whether it’s professional programming, user-generated content or personal videos. The service is comprised of a rich, easy-to-use Web site coupled with software that is easily downloaded to a mobile phone.

Consumers can use the Web site to discover, choose and personalize their on-the-go entertainment that is automatically delivered and updated to their mobile phones. The service works globally across all 3G, EDGE, EV-DO carriers and most video-capable mobile phones.
