TelstraClear Solution for Canon's IP Telephony Move

By Shamila Janakiraman

Canon New Zealand announced that it has selected TelstraClear to provide a fully managed converged voice and data solution. This follows the initiative taken by Canon to perfect its customer service. The three year contract will include Canon’s offices and warehouses throughout the country besides the call centers at Auckland and Christchurch.

Telstra has developed a future-proof solution for Canon which will increase the efficiency of the company and thereby improve customer satisfaction besides being cost effective said Craig Manson, Managing Director of Canon New Zealand.

He continued, “Customers rely on Canon print, video-conferencing and photocopier solutions to keep their businesses running. Canon’s modern business products are fully networked printers which can log their own service calls with Field Engineers and order toner and supplies directly without the customers’ involvement. We needed a telecommunications partner and solution to match.”

Craig said that the Canon’s commitment with TelstraClear will start a complete move for Canon into IP telephony resulting in improved efficiencies, better call management and flexibility around staffing. All this will actually result in improvement in Canon’s customer service noted Craig.

Mark Wilson, Head of Large Enterprises at TelstraClear confirmed the development of a solution for Canon New Zealand which is capable of extending its business infrastructure.

Wilson added, “TelstraClear is implementing a Cisco (News - Alert) Unified Communications solution, which will deliver end-to-end converged communications, virtual contact centre integration and the latest in session initiation protocol presence capabilities.”

At the same time the company’s day-to-day corporate communications will also benefit, with an increase in network bandwidth which is suitable for desk top audio and video conferencing said Wilson.
