Welocalize Deploys Certeon S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances

By Anuradha Shukla

Welocalize, an integrated globalization services provider, has picked Certeon to provide its employees with accelerated access to critical Microsoft (News - Alert) IIS and SharePoint services. By deploying Certeon S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances, Welocalize has been able to dramatically increase its remote worker productivity without incurring additional network infrastructure costs.

Welocalize wanted a high-performance application acceleration solution to deliver SharePoint and IIS services worldwide. The company wanted a solution that could maximize existing investments in its wide area network (WAN) infrastructure. While searching for a suitable solution, Welocalize also considered adding long haul circuits and MPLS services. The company found out that the cost and time required to provide these solutions to Welocalize’s worldwide locations was expensive and required new hardware, infrastructure changes and extensive coordination of people from around the globe.

Certeon’s (News - Alert) S-Series, a high performance solution helped Welocalize and did not require any changes to existing infrastructure. The solution required minimal cost and disruption. With SharePoint, Welocalize is able to support its service and solution delivery to customers, manage administrative documents and procedures, administer key internal processes such as IT issue tracking/resolution and training, while providing a platform for worldwide communication and knowledge sharing.

Before implementing SharePoint, Welocalize was challenged with a slow connection for remote employees over the company’s WAN infrastructure. Thanks to Certeon’s S-Series appliances, Welocalize is now able to provide effective SharePoint access to all nine offices in the USA, Europe and Asia.

Noting that Certeon enabled them to meet the challenging goals of delivering applications worldwide, Trevor Smith, director of IT Services for Welocalize said that they were able to deploy worldwide SharePoint service within days at a fraction of the cost of any other service or product they tested.

Smith explained that with the S-Series, no infrastructure changes were required and Certeon’s easy door-to-door shipments made it possible for Welocalize to deploy quickly and go from rack mounting to application acceleration in a matter of minutes. He added that he was truly amazed at how ‘plug and play’ it really was.

Peter Dougherty, president and CEO of Certeon indicated that global enterprises such as Welocalize rely on mission-critical services such as IIS and SharePoint to manage and run their business. Certeon maximizes the performance of remote access to these valuable services without increasing data center operational costs and provides businesses with a fast, easy to deploy, and cost-effective solution.
