California-based VPN (virtual private network) company, NeoAccel (News - Alert), announced the launch of VMware version of its flagship product, SSL VPN-Plus.

The VMware version of NeoAccel’ SSL VPN-Plus is said to be a 3rd Generation VPN offering of the company that offers high performance. The new offering is also a true alternative for IPSec to manage, replicate, restore and test remote workforce solutions - on a VMware environment in seconds, the company said.

NeoAccel is a provider of scalable, high-performance network security appliances. The company’s flagship SSL VPN-Plus product line delivers all the performance of IPsec VPNs along with other added benefits, such as increased security, simplified management, and reduced cost of ownership.

SSL VPN-Plus is an enterprise grade solution with a standard feature set that includes: End Point Security, Full Access Client, Portal Access, and Granular Access Control. It also supports Windows XP/Vista/CE Mobile, Linux, and Macintosh clients.

SSL VPN-Plus Gateway (News - Alert) can replace IPSec. The gateway, which is said to be a succession of conventional SSL VPNs, does not suffer from TCP-over-TCP meltdown and degraded client-server application performance unlike the legacy VPNs.

SSL VPN-Plus features patented ICAA and TSSL technology that integrates encryption and specialized TCP/network switching into the kernel level of an operating system and thereby eliminates TCP-over-TCP meltdown performance degradation.

According to NeoAccel, it's SSL VPN-Plus delivers the performance of first generation VPNs (IPSec) with the ease-of-use of second generation VPNs (SSL VPN), in order to provide an in-office, wire-speed connection across any network environment.

"VPN buyers love the convenience of being able to download our VPN appliance. Network administrators can experience the user and management interfaces and actually observe how SSL VPN-Plus fits within their current network setup – all without the logistics of a hardware appliance. Most prospects are up and running within 15 minutes," said Michel Susai, chairman and CEO of NeoAccel, in a statement, "This unique distribution method allows more people to experience the 3rd Generation VPN with performance enhancing and patented ICAA technology."

NeoAccel's comprehensive offering of VMware version of SSL VPN-Plus is available in three distinguished versions: SSL VPN-Plus and NAC-Plus running on an existing VMware Server platform; SSL VPN-Plus Evaluation Virtual Appliance for the VMware Player; and Globally Managed SSL VPN-Plus Farm for ASPs/MSPs/ISPs.

NeoAccel's officials said that all the versions of the company’s SSL VPN-Plus on VMware are fully functional and are persistently built as a zero administration IPsec replacement. Some of the standard features in all of the versions of the NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus on VMware include: clientless and full access clients, End Point Security, GUI administration, Mobile VPN, Secure Desktop support and more.

NeoAccel's ‘SSL VPN-Plus and NAC-Plus’ version can be purchased as virtual appliances that can run on a VMware ESX Server. Its virtualized infrastructure benefits network administrators and can enjoy on-demand replication, scalability, and backup of the VMware environment without the hassles of buying and maintaining hardware.

SSL VPN-Plus on VMware is said to be ideal for disaster recovery situations, where the application is able to replicate one SSL VPN-Plus image to many and even provide hundred folds more the number of normal concurrent users on demand.

The second version, SSL VPN-Plus Evaluation Virtual Appliance for VMware Player, facilitates to users to download and even try an active version of SSL VPN-Plus by utilizing VMware player. This requires effectively turning any laptop or extra lab computer into an SSL VPN-Plus Gateway, in less than 15 minutes. In this second version, users are required to sign-up at the company’s website and with an email verification can obtain unrestricted 10 concurrent user license for 30 days.

The third version ‘Globally Managed SSL VPN-Plus Farm for ASPs/MSPs/ISPs’ provides 10Gbps SSL VPN performance on the SGX-5200 appliance that facilitates service providers to take advantage of the VMware operating environment, such as provisioning, cloning, and managing SSL VPN-Plus Gateways on the fly with a global manager.

Globally Managed SSL VPN-Plus Farm for ASPs/MSPs/ISPs enables MSPs/ISPs to offer their customers compartmentalized and secured access with flexibility and scalability. The SGX-5200 can support up to 128 individual virtual machines.

NeoAccel also has plans to expand its virtualization offering by making its SSL VPN-Plus available for other virtualization architectures in the coming future. NeoAccel is also facing a strong demand for its VMware products from its international systems integrators in Germany, Japan, and the U.S. Some of its customers include Xerox, Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert), Videocon, Tong Yang and Moserbaer.
