CRM's Intelliworks to Aid College Athletic Departments
By David Sims TMCnet Contributing Editor Intelliworks, a vendor of relationship management products for higher education, has announced the launch of Intelliworks Bluechip, a Web-based product configured to enhance relationship management and recruitment for collegiate athletic departments.
Among the first teams to sign on with Bluechip are Doane College baseball and women’s soccer and the University of Massachusetts men’s lacrosse.
Intelliworks officials say Bluechip is designed to help college athletics programs manage “all interactions with prospects, players and alumni to improve recruitment, compliance and fund raising efforts.” The system lets individual teams and athletic departments track correspondence with recruits, current players and alumni from a central location.
“We currently use multiple Excel spreadsheets and our e-mail client to communicate with alumni and prospects. Using two different systems makes it very easy to make mistakes or overlook contacts,” said Jake Coon, assistant coach of UMass Men’s Lacrosse, adding that one of the first initiatives the coaches will undertake is to rebuild their fragmented alumni database by sending out forms from Intelliworks to get updated information.
The product is also designed to help with compliance with NCAA correspondence regulations, managing special events and summer camp registration.
Mike Carpenter, chief information officer of Doane College, said the school plans to launch the Intelliworks Bluechip software for the rest of the teams once its baseball and soccer teams get up and running.
Late last year, Intelliworks officials said that nine higher education programs chose to use Orion from Intelliworks since the product’s launch in late July, “resulting in 100 new users in the product’s first 100 days.”
New customers include the University of Pennsylvania, California State University-Sacramento, Northeastern University and Northwestern University. “With its fast deployment, ease of use, and affordable pricing structure, Orion provides compelling value to any individual and team to take control of their CRM needs,” said Diane Raymond, director of admission for Intelliworks client New England College.
