CRM Integration in Flypaper's Future

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Flypaper (News - Alert) Studio, which sells media content creation software, has launched its first design contest for users to display their creativity and showcase Flypaper Stories.

The vendor will also host a Flypaper training Webinar to demonstrate tips and tricks for using their software to develop sales and marketing stories “that help sell and persuade on the Web,” company officials say.

Both the contest and Webinar “are being offered in response to the increasing customer demand for the software,” the Flypaperians say, adding that they will look at “ways to use the recently released Flypaper Pro for business use.”

For the Flypaper “Stories that Stick” contest entries need to be submitted by Sept. 15. Winners will be announced the week of Sept. 29. One grand-prize winner will receive a Sony 40” HDTV, and two second place winners will receive an Apple (News - Alert) iPod touch or an Amazon Gift Certificate.

The Webinar will be on Wednesday August 27 at 1 p.m. Eastern, according to the company..

Flypaper recently launched its professional version of the application Flypaper Pro, and also released the 1.0 version of its free product, Flypaper. Shortly after the latest product launches, the company closed a second round of funding totaling $3.5 million.

The company will also release an Enterprise version of the software that will include integration with CRM applications and other features for more extensive corporate use.

A couple weeks ago, according to Phoenix Business Journal, Flypaper Studio rolled out its Flypaper Pro subscription, with more advanced services available for businesses than its free download.

The subscription, priced annually at $195, allows for what company officials call “a more interactive version of the program that develops Web sites and training systems that require advanced Flash computer programming.”

Flypaper Pro lets users track viewer statistics and capture data and includes features to improve the presentation. The company is run by the team that developed ACT! and SalesLogix CRM software.

“When we were developing CRM applications, the focus was using software to sell more efficiently. Now, the name of the game is using the Web to sell more effectively,” said Pat Sullivan, chief executive officer of Flypaper.
