Cavotec MSL Relies on Verizon Business for Global Communications

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

The Cavotec MSL Group, a global provider of power supply solutions, has turned to Verizon Business (News - Alert) to provide its global communications infrastructure. Cavotec MSL is transitioning to an IP-based communications environment.

Cavotec MSL is relying on a fully managed Verizon Private IP solution that is expected to provide secure, high-speed connectivity for its operations throughout the world. This solution is also expected to serve as the foundation for the company’s migration to IP-enabled communications.

Verizon Managed IP PX from the company’s VoIP portfolio will also enhance the company’s PBX (News - Alert) capabilities, thereby enabling it to realize the flexibility, enhanced network-management and cost benefits of VoIP technology.

With its headquarters in New Zealand and corporate offices in Switzerland, Cavotec MSL develops environmentally friendly engineering solutions that are designed to help businesses to improve their energy-efficiency capabilities.

Global operations demand that the company rely on the seamless flow of confidential information and technical expertise across its global network to service the requirement of its customers.

Cavotec MSL also has a desire to create the perception that it is “local everywhere” and relies on this information flow to make this possible. As such, the company set out to identify a partner with the global reach, expertise and capability to deliver excellence in local manufacturing units and global sales and marketing teams.

"Our communications infrastructure is critical to the success of our global business, and we are clear that IP-based communications will play a key role in enabling future business growth," said Geir Leret Andersen, corporate IT manager, Cavotec MSL Group, in a Wednesday statement.

"Our customers expect to receive the same level of technical expertise and service wherever they are based in the world, so the timely and secure exchange of information is crucial. Verizon Business gives us the capabilities we require today, but also has the experience, global reach and capability to support our future business needs."

Stuart Curzon, group vice president of international sales, Verizon Business EMEA, said in Wednesday’s statement, "Cavotec MSL, like many multinational corporations, considers its move to IP telephony as critical to its future business success. We are confident that Verizon Business can support Cavotec MSL in achieving its IP-enabled future and realizing the business benefits IP telephony can deliver."

IP telephony can help to create significant benefits not just in communications, but also in operations for global companies. Such an infrastructure provides the flexibility that a company needs to compete on a global scale, while also delivering the scalability necessary to drive future growth. Cavotec MSL is expecting to benefit from its selection of Verizon Business, maintaining a local feel on a global platform.
