Advanced ID Corporation has announced that its Hong Kong subsidiary, Advanced ID Asia Pacific Ltd., will acquire Shenzhen DDCT Technology Company, a China-based RFID manufacturer.

Advanced ID Corporation develops radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for livestock tracking, pet recovery and supply chain applications in the tire management industry.

DDCT is involved in the development, production, and sales of RFID/UHF hardware, including UHF readers, and antenna tags in Asia.

Advanced ID and DDCT have entered a definitive asset purchase agreement which entails direct purchase of DDCT’s assets through a combination of cash and equity. DDCT will also achieve certain revenue objectives with the sales of the entity’s products in China. Finalization of documents with respect to Chinese and U.S. laws are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

“It is no secret that China is the most senior player in the Far East, and possibly in the world, relative to adoption of RFID and UHF tags and readers,” said AIDO President and CEO, Dan Finch.

“With the completion of this strategic acquisition, our company acquires all of the technology patents and IP that DDCT has for their readers and modules, as well as their intricate knowledge of sales and marketing of an organization in the Asian market,” he added.

DDCT has advanced knowledge in reader development and modules in china and the combined effort of both the companies is expected go a long way in providing highly advanced and cost effective RFID readers suitable for all kinds of applications.

Siyou Su, chairman of DDCT, was clearly impressed with Advanced ID’s ability to focus on niche markets, and their impressive global distribution network which is seen as a complement to the DDCT readers and modules. Several months of testing DDCT’s readers and modules for inclusion with Advanced ID’s, has resulted in its integration with Advanced ID products. This will enable full featured, low priced readers to be available in the Chinese as well as the world market.

DDCT customers in China include commercial users, system logistics and government agencies. The company offers its products for tracking and military RFID applications. It is also developing the most advanced UHF active reader.

Advanced ID Corporation is a complete solutions provider for RFID applications especially in the tire management industry. Its UK-based subsidiary, Pneu-Logic, focuses on the tire inspection business. The company is involved in the pet recovery business through AVID Canada, one of its subsidiaries. It is reintroducing its livestock tagging product line and has developed a UHF RFID reader product line suitable for several market applications.
