Limbo, an emerging mobile social network is expanding its reach internationally to three and a half billion people in more than two hundred countries.

This announcement will allow mobile phone users from over two hundred countries to join Limbo’s community through the Internet or mobile Web.

Established in 2005, Limbo is one of the fastest growing mobile communities in the U.S., with over two and a half million members and a monthly reach of over five million people. Limbo is free for everyone to use and is paid for by innovative mobile advertising formats. The company had recently launched an iPhone (News - Alert) application in July 2008. Initially released in the US, the application is now available in all 62 countries that support the iPhone.

Limbo claims that the company was among the first location-aware social networks to launch an iPhone application and is also the first to expand to international markets.

“Mobile social communities have no boundaries, and neither should Limbo,” says Limbo’s Chief Executive Officer, Jonathon Linner.

“Mobile Internet usage, text message usage and International mobile interactions are all crossing country borders while most mobile social networks remain geographically stagnant. In order for Limbo to become a part of this growing mobile landscape, we’re making our community available on an international level,” added Linner.

Through this international reach, Limbo enables users to access mobile social network features and connect to friends across the globe, jetsetters can still share location during their travel to international destinations and this option is open to all mobile phone users in almost any country, says the company.

Mobile phone users from over two hundred countries can now join Limbo’s community through the Internet or mobile web to broadcast where they are and what they’re doing, socialize with other members, or play games against each other.
