MegaPath has announced that the company’s Managed SSL VPN services surpassed 250,000 users and more than one billion sessions per month in Q3 2008.
As the use of VPN increases, concerns about the security of exchanging information over a VPN network also worries many companies. Although VPN allows companies to exchange valuable data in a fast and reliable way, companies are often left with a high bill and vulnerability to attacks.
MegaPath (News - Alert) claims that its Managed SSL VPN services provides secure access for any approved remote user, from both IT-managed and non-managed devices. The services provided by the company can be used in different users such as telecommuters, road warriors, branch office employees, business partners, retail stores, restaurants and franchisee owners.
ULTRA Diamonds is among the companies that chose the VPN services from MegaPath. The company states that only MegaPath could provide speed broadband to all of their 198 stores nationwide in a cost effective manner. ULTRA Diamonds says the company can now manage the transfer data between its data center, home office and every store on a secure and reliable MPLS network.
“MegaPath is a pioneer in IP communications, delivering the first-ever integrated MPLS/IPsec/SSL VPN solution, and this recent milestone solidifies our market and technology leadership,” said Dan Foster, Senior Vice President of Sales at MegaPath. “With more than 250,000 SSL VPN users initiating more than one billion sessions every month, MegaPath is demonstrating a level of scalability that is unmatched in the industry and is a benchmark for other enterprise-class services.”
MegaPath offers three types of Managed SSL VPN services namely Corporate Access SSL; Retail Site-to-Site SSL; and Business Continuity SSL. These services are backed by robust authentication and highest levels of security, says the company.
MegaPath has provided its VPN based services to many clients such as Sun Pacific Energy, which is using MegaPath’s fully managed security, VPN and broadband services at more than 30 locations throughout Washington. With this partnership, MegaPath is helping Sun Pacific Energy to not only cut infrastructure and phone costs but also enhance employee productivity and customer satisfaction.
