Mobilitie Signs Dark Fiber Lease Agreement with Mzima Networks

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Mobilitie LLC, a wireless and telecommunications infrastructure asset in the United States has signed Dark Fiber Lease Agreement with Mzima Networks.

Mobilitie's Fiber Optic Networks (FON (News - Alert)) exist in major metropolitan areas and can be utilized by any company that requires a highly reliable means of transporting data. The company’s fiber solutions include distributed antenna systems, dark fiber and in-building.

As technology advances, bandwidth demands will continue to increase. Fiber optic cable is a medium that can accommodate such increases with minimal upgrade requirements, says the company.

Commenting on the new agreement Weiner, Vice President of Network Strategy for Mobilitie said, “Mzima had three requirements for us. We had to provide a diverse optical path…at an aggressive price-point…and complete it within five business days. It was a hard push for the New York City Operations Team, but they delivered!”

Mzima using the optical path offers a unique combination of route-optimized transit and private peering, which translates to a high-quality low-cost alternative to traditional Tier-1 service providers and multi-homed networks.

The Mzima backbone network is built for performance, allowing customer traffic to reach end-users quickly and effectively. Mzima utilizes a fully-redundant architecture at every layer of its network and focuses on providing service to content and enterprise customers requiring the highest levels of performance.

“Our requirements are ultimately driven by our customers,” Joe Cooper, VP of Sales and Marketing for Mzima said, “but it is rare to see a vendor deliver exactly as promised! It’s quite obvious that both Mzima and Mobilitie are very much alike in their commitment to the customer!”

Recently Mzima Networks along with CRG West announced the expansion of its next-generation, IP Network to six CRG (News - Alert) West data centers across the United States.
