FastSoft Speeds Upload of Information to Limelight's Storage Servers
By Anuradha Shukla TMCnet Contributor Limelight Networks, a content delivery partner enabling the next wave of Internet business and entertainment, has chosen FastSoft E Series Internet Accelerators to speed the upload of content objects to Limelight’s global storage servers.
FastSoft’s patented FastTCP technology enables performance improvements in transmission speeds because it bypasses the limitations inherent in the TCP protocol commonly used in IP networks.
FastSoft’s E Series has been chosen to accelerate the uploading of content from customers to Limelight storage servers. These regional storage nodes throughout Limelight’s global network contain copies of publishers’ content.
FastSoft’s E Series Internet Accelerators are expected to help Limelight’s customers maximize the benefits of their content delivery platform by speeding the upload of information to Limelight’s storage servers, according to Joe DePalo, vice president, network operations, Limelight Networks (News - Alert), Inc.
“We’re extremely pleased to be working with Limelight Networks, one of the leading content delivery network operators, to speed the flow of data to their storage servers,” said Dan Henderson, vice president, marketing, FastSoft. He finds Limelight to be a great example of how the FastTCP technology can aid companies of all types improve productivity and operate their networks more efficiently.
FastSoft was launched in 2006 with an aim to bring the benefits of Internet acceleration to businesses who want to speed the download and distribution of video and other digital content worldwide. In September, FastSoft launched their E 1000 solution that delivers 1 Gbps capacity to speed content delivery by as much as 30 times.
This solution allows companies with Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) offerings to deliver video and other rich media content more cost-effectively. In addition, the solution enables content and content delivery providers to deliver rich media quickly to the end-user and sidestep issues associated with regional caching.
