By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

A new suite of Cisco TelePresence products and applications to cater to global organizations of all sizes has been unveiled by Cisco (News - Alert).

Cisco TelePresence will now be available from any conference room environment, standards-based video conferencing session or web-based video session.

According to a study conducted by Crimson Consulting Group, global companies have reported fast return on investment times from Cisco TelePresence. The companies who participated in this study have achieved breakeven in an average of 14 months. The ability to conduct real-time, face-to-face meetings over the network with Cisco TelePresence has helped companies to streamline processes and conduct more business without leaving the office.

Special financing is being provided by Cisco Capital to enterprises and mid-size customers to acquire Cisco TelePresence in the United States and Canada. By utilizing this financing, companies will be able to acquire Cisco TelePresence with no payments and no interest up to 120 days, during solution deployment. More than 2,000 Cisco TelePresence systems have already been deployed around the world.

The Cisco TelePresence System 1300 Series has been designed for up to six people in a shared-use meeting room. It uses one screen and three cameras and also makes use of the existing conference room tables. Another offering, Cisco TelePresence Extended Reach is able to run over bandwidth connections as low as 1.5 megabits per second (T1) in 720p resolution. It also supports Cisco TelePresence over open Internet connections and ensures high quality experience at all times.

Cisco TelePresence Recording Studio is an application that expands the application of Cisco TelePresence beyond meetings. It enables customers to create high-quality video messages or record presentations for instant, secure playback on Cisco TelePresence units. Another application, Cisco TelePresence Event Controls provides event managers with tools to produce internal and external Cisco TelePresence events.

High definition interoperability feature of Cisco TelePresence meetings enable inclusion of video from any standards-based high-definition videoconferencing system or standard-definition video conferencing, WebEx and other desktop video applications. This will enable organizations to scale collaboration and leverage existing resources. According to Charles Stucki, vice president and general manager of TelePresence Systems Business Unit at Cisco, the company is reinventing the way users can experience Cisco TelePresence.
