Global Capacity Wins Contract with Data Communications Company

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Global Capacity, Inc., a telecommunications information and logistics company, reportedly has won a new contract with an international data communications company.

The contract is valued in excess of $100,000 annually.

In a release, officials said that as per terms of the agreement the new client will use Global Capacity's proprietary information base and automated pricing system to qualify and quote new communications services.

"Global Capacity's information base and automated systems enable our customers to qualify and quote broadband requirements, streamlining their sales process and accelerating their revenue," said Patrick Shutt, chief executive officer, Global Capacity, in the release.

Shutt said that the company’s business model enables its clients to achieve their business objectives.

Global Capacity is a telecom information and logistics company providing a fully-integrated telecommunications supply chain management system that the company claims streamlines and accelerates the process of designing, pricing, building, optimizing, and managing customized communications networks.

It offers a comprehensive suite of services to enterprises, systems integrators, and carrier customers worldwide.

Back in August Global Capacity had announced two new strategic sourcing contracts with total contract value over $2.9 million. These contracts will be delivered via an expansion of Global Capacity's "One Marketplace" network solution.

One Marketplace enables customers to expand their networks in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

Global Capacity utilizes its proprietary telecom information and network optimization tools to design the most cost-effective network solution, aggregating customer demand and leveraging the company's logistics and network management expertise to deliver high-value services at significantly lower costs.

These solutions enable customers to meet their business objectives, rapidly responding to new requirements, while improving efficiency and reducing the cost of their network infrastructure.

In the same month Global Capacity had announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as well as the quarter ended March 31, 2009 and the year ended December 31, 2008.

The company reported 2008 revenues of $34.2 million compared to $17.2 million in 2007, an increase of 99 percent. Gross margin during the year was $13.9 million, a 178 percent increase over the $5 million for the year ending December 31, 2007.

For the first half of 2009, the company reported revenues of $32.1 million compared to revenues of $18.2 million in the first half of 2008, an increase of 77 percent. Gross margin for the first half of 2009 was $7.2 million compared to $9.5 million for the same period in 2008.
