Fine Point Technologies Intros Device Management Solution for Small Broadband Providers
By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor
Fine Point Technologies has introduced a device management solution designed to “dramatically” lower the cost of market entry for small broadband providers with fewer than 5,000 subscribers.
Dubbed, “REACH 5000,” the solution empowers emerging broadband providers to compete on equal footing with top tier communications carriers when it comes to customer support quality.
“Any small, fast-growing ISP can now go online to purchase REACH 5000, and within a few days be competing on customer support quality with the biggest operators in their own market, and at the lowest cost,” said Todd Ruelle, CEO at Fine Point Technologies.
A stand alone, plug and play solution, Fine Point’s REACH 5000 Auto Configuration Server allows ISPs to activate and manage their customers’ broadband connections across an array of TR-069 compliant modems and other networking devices -- all over the Internet. Officials said that it eliminates the need for dispatching a service technician to a customer’s home.
Additionally, if an ISP grows beyond 5,000 subscribers, REACH 5000 can be upgraded to Fine Point’s other TR-069 compliant remote device management products. Officials said that these products are interoperable with virtually all home networking devices on the market today, regardless of manufacturer.
With REACH 5000, ISPs can manage up to 5,000 devices out of the box. Official said that it can also be made scalable to 250,000 devices. REACH 5000 supports service fulfillment and customer support through engineering GUI; and also supports TR-069, TR-098, TR-104, TR-106, TR-110, TR-111, TR-135, TR-140, TR-142 protocols.
