IP Infusion Intros ZebOS Internet Route Server

IP Infusion, an ACCESS Company and a provider of intelligent software for next generation network equipment manufacturers and converged IP service providers, has reportedly introduced ZebOS Internet Route Server.

This Linux-based platform helps service providers remotely view, monitor, filter and track routes on their networks, thus mitigating border gateway protocol hijacking and other DOS attacks, according to company officials.

Paired with support for anti-BGP hijacking, the ZebOS Internet Route Server solution provides a low-cost and flexible implementation to manage critical routing information exchange, officials said.

Koichi Narasaki (News - Alert), president and CEO at IP Infusion, said that as global Internet traffic moves across different, autonomous systems, it is important to ensure that the routes are properly monitored, managed and filtered among provider peers.

“With our innovative ZebOS Internet Route Server, IP Infusion (News - Alert) now offers scalable services for BGP monitoring, tracking and filtering of various routes at Internet exchanges,” Narasaki said in a statement.

Narasaki said that the ability for IP Infusion to offer a solution that eases concerns over network stability will provide a competitive edge to Internet service providers in their deployment of new converged services.

The ZebOS Internet Route Server will come with a configured, out-of-the-box server. Delivered with the route server application loaded, the server can be used for route-viewing, monitoring and policy controlled route transmission in the control plane, officials said.

Moreover, the deployment of the ZebOS Internet Route Server supports instantiation of a BGP view for multiple clients, allowing network operators to group their BGP peers. Officials said that BGP peers are grouped based their actual requirements and assign unified policies for both inbound and outbound traffic.

Earlier this month, IP Infusion announced its membership in The Green Grid (News - Alert), a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems. The company said that by joining The Green Grid, it’s helping influence both developers and end users of data center technology.
