Americatel Deploys Equinox's TeleLink for Mediation

By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor

Equinox Information Systems, a global provider of software solutions for the telecommunications industry, has announced that Americatel, a provider of telecommunication services to businesses and consumers in the United States, upgraded its installation of TeleLink to version 5 and deployed the software’s mediation functionality.

TeleLink is Equinox’s powerful multi-system mediation platform that integrates with all usage, including Sonus and Nortel (News - Alert) DMS GSP, as well as off-net feeds and provides network reporting and analysis.

According to officials with Americatel, the company has deployed TeleLink version 5 to mediate all of its call data for its downstream billing system so TeleLink can facilitate the delivery of usage records by filtering and converting data to the appropriate formats for billing operational support systems.

Americatel also uses TeleLink to process call records from multiple switch sources as well as six off-net feeds: Bell Nexxia, Verizon (News - Alert), Global Crossing, ANI Networks, Sprint, and Level 3.

“We have used TeleLink’s reporting functionality for several years, and it plays an important role in our back-office operations,” said Russell Clarkson, chief information officer for Americatel.

“In addition to the new query tools and enhanced reporting available with the upgrade, we are now using TeleLink to mediate call data from all of our switches and off-network partners to our billing system, as well as generate reports based on operational measurements,” Clarkson said.
