Taqua Aids Deployment of Converged Services with 'IMS Core In A Rack'

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Taqua, LLC, a supplier of next-generation systems and applications, displayed its 'IMS Core In A Rack' at the Rural Cellular Association Convention and Expo in Las Vegas.

The 'IMS Core In A Rack' allows service providers to deploy converged services throughout wireless and wireline networks quickly.

In order to provide a common set of services to support their fixed line, second generation, third generation and fourth generation mobile subscribers, operators are looking to limit and replace their legacy core networks.

This problem is addressed by Taqua (News - Alert) MobileWorks solution. Based on IMS and Open Mobile Alliance standards framework, the 'IMS Core In A Rack' from Taqua MobileWorks enables operators to provide an improved set of voice messaging and presence-based applications.

This solution supports already existing mobiles over new Pico, Macro and/or Pico Cells to pull lower cost last mile broadband IP networks. It complies with the global Voice over LTE (News - Alert) initiative to back service delivery across 4G devices. The 'IMS Core In A Rack' also allows the operator to change their wireline Class 4/5 network and offer advanced combined networks throughout legacy TDM and IP-based networks.

The Taqua T7000 Intelligent Switching System or "T7000" and the Mavenir mOne Convergence (News - Alert) Platform are at the center of the 'IMS Core In A Rack' from Taqua MobileWorks. Both systems allow quick delivery of Converged IP Messaging, mobile VoIP and presence enabled rich communications services.

Critical network components including subscriber databases, like the HLR, and IN services platform are used by the solution to deliver uniformity of service throughout service domains. The system integrates with present messaging core to cap legacy investments and make the shift from SMS and MMS to IMS based networks easier.

The 'IMS Core In A Rack', combined with a PDSN equipment, is an established solution in the field that can lessen entry expenses, speed the deployment of improved services and present a seamless shift to a single all-IP voice core for any mobile access.
