Evangelyze Communications Introduces SmartSIP Product

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Enabling the interaction of various types of telephony services with Microsoft's (News - Alert) Office Communications Server (OCS) platform, Evangelyze Communications (EC) has released its SmartSIP product. According to the company, this new product will help the customers to use Microsoft Office Communications Server as their voice platform.

For companies that cannot afford to nor want to break their contracts with their existing voice carriers, SmartSIP provides support for UDP (News - Alert) and TCP-based SIP Trunking providers. SmartSIP also allows the customers to connect Microsoft Office Communications Server in their headquarters as it offers a connector service for branch, store, and remote office locations.

Evangelyze claims that most of the companies that are under contract with voice carriers and PBX (News - Alert) manufacturers cannot use new services as the contract will be binding on them. SmartSIP allows these companies to keep their voice carrier contracts, phone devices and softphones and they don’t require any software to run on the phone or softphone.

“Microsoft's Unified Communications (News - Alert) platform is the most innovative communications platform in the communications marketplace," says Joe Schurman, founder and CEO of Evangelyze Communications. "With Microsoft's focus on UCC, organizations can easily transition into a software-powered communications platform that integrates into their existing line of business applications and processes. We at EC feel that this platform needs to be open to existing voice carrier networks, phone devices, softphone applications”

SmartSIP makes use of Microsoft's Active Directory and OCS configuration and provides advantages such as maintenance and administration overheads. Companies can now choose whatever voice carrier, whatever phone device, softphone application running on any operating system and connect all of their locations together using Microsoft's Unified Communications platform, says Evangelyze.

In February, the company reached an agreement with Enabling Technologies Corporation to form a sales, marketing and consulting partnership to expand the reach and implementation of the Microsoft Unified Communications solution. The partnership between Enabling Technologies and Evangelyze Communications is expected to help customers in supporting effective collaboration, enhancing productivity.
