Thing5 Completes SIP Trunking Solution Deployment
By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor
Thing5, a provider of SIP trunking and hosted PBXs for the hospitality industry, announced that it has completed another brand-wide deployment.
This latest announcement brings the company's total in-production sites to almost 3,000 hotels using its SIP trunking and hosted PBX (News - Alert) platform, according to company officials.
Recently, the company completed the deployment of its SIP trunking solution at over 200 properties for one of the largest and best-known brands in the hospitality industry. Things5 did not disclose the name of the company.
With the help of Thing5's SIP trunking, the hotel company has been able reduce its monthly telecommunications bill for its 200+ corporate-owned properties from six figures to under $50,000 per month.
Company officials said that their solution has "stripped out significant operating costs" by allowing the client to cancel bloated, traditional telecommunications services and streamlined their monthly billing.
Additionally, there is another major deployment underway at one of the top five largest brands in the industry, said company officials. This project includes implementing Thing5's services to upgrade the hotelier's telecommunications at its corporate headquarters, call center and over 300 properties.
Company official said that the implementation of Thing5 services at the company's corporate headquarters and two of its call centers has been successfully completed. This is expected to be followed by the deployment of Thing5 services at its properties.
Thing5's enterprise solution uses burstable IP trunking, enabling on-demand sharing of under-utilized trunk capacity. Company officials said that Thing5 clients take advantage of its fixed rate calling, reducing their monthly telecommunications expense.
Moreover, the company's hosted PBX eliminates the significant capital expense associated with buying new or replacement PBX equipment. Using Thing5's solution, applications such as voicemail, automatic call distribution, audio conferencing and instant messaging are hosted in geographically redundant data centers rather than by the clients, and delivered as managed IP services over the Web.
