Tech Data (News - Alert), a worldwide distributor of technology products, will distribute its Speedy brand software products in the United States and abroad starting June 1.

 

According to Todd McIndoo, vice president of Speedy Scan, Tech Data is a dedicated business unit for document management and document imaging. It’s goal is to distribute these products immediately to a large reseller base.

 

McIndoo pointed out that since its inception, Speedy Scan has been committed to providing value oriented paperless office products to small businesses. Tech Data will sell products through its distributor channel to value-added resellers and systems integrators. The company will proactively bring Speedy Scan business opportunities and dedicate resources to their product line.

 

“This will undoubtedly grow their business as well as our own,” he added.

 

Since 2003, Speedy Scan Company has been offering its document management and paperless office products (including Speedy Organizer, Speedy File Brander, and Speedy Office Document Manager) to resellers.

 

Under terms of the agreement between the two companies, Tech Data will also administer Speedy Scan’s Reseller Program which provides a specific product to a resellers seeking involvement in the growing document management and document imaging industry.

 

Tech Data noted that Visioneer, a Pleasanton, California-based scanner manufacturer, will be participating directly with Speedy and Tech Data in this reseller offering. Through its Digital Imaging Specialized Business Unit, Tech Data provides reseller support services such as business development, education and training, logistics management, systems engineers, vendor product representatives and a dedicated sales team.

 

Founded in 1974, Tech Data’s business model enables technology solution providers, manufacturers, and publishers to cost-effectively sell to and support end users ranging from small-to-midsize businesses (SMB) to large enterprises. The company recently completed the acquisition of certain assets of Scribona AB, a publicly traded IT distribution company in the Nordic region of Europe with operations in Sweden, Finland and Norway.
