Making Money in IP Communications
By Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor
Is your enterprise so focused on staying afloat in difficult economic times that it’s shelved new investment plans?
The telecommunications market is one of the most lucrative, but navigating its opportunities can be bit tricky, especially if you’re not well-versed in acronyms like UC, Wi-Fi telephony and CEBP.
Take a few tips from the financially savvy panelists selected for Wednesday morning’s “Making Money in IP Communications” session at ITEXPO West 2009, who will give you an in-depth discussion on everything you must know to become successful at selling communications services.
“The economic crisis has taught Broadvox (News - Alert) that the primary value proposition for VoIP/SIP trunking, reducing your telecom spend, is more relevant than ever,” David Byrd, vice president of marketing and sales for Broadvox, said in a pre-EXPO interview with Conference Chairman and TMC CEO, Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), who will moderate the panel. “Our customers continue to use our services and enjoy their savings. Where we see the biggest change is in our prospecting activity. Interest is up and sales cycles are shorter.”
Byrd – who will be joined at the 9:30 a.m. panel by co-presenters Robert Messner, president and CEO of ABP (News - Alert) Technology, Inc.; Don Grant, vice president of business development and channel marketing for Iwatsu Voice Networks; Nick Branica, CEO of Ipitomy and Jeff Devries, channel sales manager for Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert) – told Tehrani the session will focus on the near-term and long-term directions for the IP ecosystem.
“The talk will be about the future of IP and how peering will apply itself to expanding the reach of individual carriers while reducing the cost of IP communications further,” Byrd said.
For anyone and everyone involved in any way with communications sales to SMB or enterprise customers – including classic interconnects, data VARs, VADs and security resellers – this session is a must-attend.
